SDN48 2nd Single [Ai, Chuseyo]

     SDN48 returns after 3 months with their 2nd Single, [Ai, Chuseyo], releasing on 23 March 2011. Hmmm? "Chuseyo" doesn't sound Japanese. That's because it isn't, it's Korean. “Chuseyo” means “give/please” in Korean and the title in the lyrics roughly translates to “Please give me a burning love”.

     Unlike GAGAGA, this time the senbatsu members will not be going through an election, but are chosen solely by their producer Akimoto Yasushi. Ai, Chuseyo has been described as an "impressive love song sung with the feeling of adult women like only SDN48 can". One big shock is that a half of the GAGAGA Senbatsu members aren't Senbatsu members anymore. Ohori, Noro, Urano, Ito, Akita, and Chen Qu have been replaced by 2nd Gen SDN members.


     There will be Undergirls A and Undegirls B just like GAGAGA, but this time Undergirls A's song Tengoku no Door wa 3kaime no Bell de aku (The door to Paradise opens at the third ring) will be on both Type A and Type B CDs. Undergirls B's song Awajijima no Tamanegi (Awaji Island's onion) will be the 3rd track on Type A CDs, while Type B will have a solo song by Nishikunihara Reiko, Ai yo, Ugokanaide (Love, don't move).

     Okay I really have to get this out. I DO NOT approve of SDN singing Korean. It just sucks. Before I get misunderstood, I don't hate Koreans or Korean music. I just think that Japanese should never sing Korean and Koreans should never sing Japanese. They should stick to their own languages. It just turns out horribly. GAGAGA didn't impress me any bit and I don't think Ai, Chuseyo will either.
