AKB48 documentary to make its US premier

Released earlier this year in cinemas across Japan, AKB48's newest feature, "DOCUMENTARY of AKB48 - To Be Continued", will finally see a US premier in San Francisco, California. The film will be shown as part of the annual J-Pop Summit festival to be hosted by New People Entertainment, the same agency that has licensed the docudrama for American and Canadian release. Company CEO, Seiji Horibuchi, has also hinted at the issue of an English-subtitled DVD in the near future. This first-time screening will occur on August 28th, 1:00 PM PST, in the New People Cinema located within the city's Japantown; individuals who wish to attend the premier must fork out $12 per ticket.

The 2-hour long film follows the girls through their struggles in 2010 and includes footage of the group's concerts, fan events, and 2nd general election. Fans will also be able to feel the girls' many emotions from being part of AKB48 via special interviews with select members. Bay area AKB48 fans, don't miss this opportunity to see your idols on the big screen.
