AKB48's Oshima Yuko will release a line of furisodes (long-sleeved kimonos) that she produced herself under OshimaUco, a brand that she has also founded. Kimonos of 12 patterns, replete with obi, will be available for purchase at either 450,000 yen or 470,000 yen.
On the 1st of August, Oshima modeled three of her designs on the catwalk during a kimono collection showcase in Kyoto.
She expressed the following at the fashion event:
I treat every kimono with fondness. I hope everyone will be pleased with these kimonos. I would like to challenge many things to make everyone surprised.
