Itano Tomomi Wins [Japan Fashion Leader Award 2011]
On 6 December 2011, publishing company Takarajimasha announced the winners of the [Japan Fashion Leader Award 2011]. Amongst those honored was AKB48's own Itano Tomomi. This is her third year in a row winning this award. Other honorees include Sasaki Nozomi, Becky, Yonekura Ryoko, and Rinka.
For the awards ceremony, she was decked out in a stunning white gown with a a decorative bow on the back, reminiscent of bows on present boxes for Christmas. Because her outfit was such a reminder of the approaching holiday, of course she was asked about her plans, to which she replied, "I haven't thought about that at all, but every year the members have a party together, so I think this year will be the same."
Because of recent marriage and pregnancy events of the other award winners, Itano was also asked about her thoughts on marriage. She seemed very eager, saying "I have always wanted to get married. How far in the future it will be, I don't know, but sooner or later I would like to get married."
Every year, the winners of this award are selected by magazine subscribers' votes on who they think are leading contributors to the spread of casual fashion. On winning the award, Itano commented "I have always loved style and fashion, so among all the awards I have one, this one makes me truly happy." When asked for her style advice, she suggested "Having fun, being yourself, that makes fashion enjoyable!"
Well, Tomochin is certainly known for being stylish, and I'm really happy she won the award again. I'm not sure I'm a fan of the dress she wore to the ceremony, but I'm likely in the minority (not a fan of the bling). In any case, she and all the other winners look lovely, so congratulations to them!
