AKB48's 27th single [
Gingham Check]'s first day sales were
906,617 copies, placing it at number one on the Oricon daily singles chart. These sales are lower than the six previous AKB48 singles, with numbers in between last year's [
Sakura no Ki ni narou] and [
Everyday, Kachuusha], which sold
655,344 and
942,475 copies respectively.
The tracks on AKB's 27th single are performed by members as voted for in this year's Senbatsu Sousenkyo. It is the first single to not include Maeda Atsuko, long-time ace of the group.
