AKB48 Group Shuffle Final Results

On February 24th during the Dai Sokaku Matsuri, a big shuffle for the AKB48 Group had been announced, including many surprising transfers and concurrencies. All members had time until February 26th to appeal against their changes and some have made use of this rule.

Kikuchi Ayaka and Iwata Karen  have refused their transfer to NMB48 and SKE48 respectively, they will stay in Team A. Takashima Yurina also refused to transfer to SKE48, she continues in Team 4. Nonaka Misato will not move to Team K but stay in Team B. NMB48's Jo Eriko declined her promotion and hence will remain a Kenkyuusei. Additionally, Takano Yui refuses to change to Team BII and will remain in Team M.

An updated team list can be seen below.

A video of AKB48 costume designer and newly-appointed AKB48 Group Manager Kayano Shinobu commenting on the shuffle and her appointment has been uploaded on the official AKB48 Youtube channel in Japanese and English audio.

NMB48 Team M Shimada Rena Announces Graduation

During Day 3 of Team M's Osaka Tour, Team M captain Shimada Rena announced her graduation from NMB48. A date for her graduation has yet to be decided.

Shimada Rena joined NMB48 in mid-2011 as part of the 2nd Generation. Following a purikura/boyfriend scandal she was suspended for four months. After a fan voting she was allowed back in and resumed her activities on January 1st, 2012. In order to prove herself, she was made captain of the 2nd Generation Kenkyuusei and later captain of Team M when it was formed. She was part of NMB48 senbatsu once, for [Bokura no Eureka].

Shimada Rena's graduation announcement
Original Message
I, Shimada Rena, will graduate from NMB48.
Last year I had my 20th birthday, and I started to think about my future more than before. I was allowed to make a lot of experiences in this really blessed place that is NMB48 and, including painful and frustrating things, I was able to learn a lot here.
I started thinking about graduation, but the staff and the presence of the members I spent every day with and the words of all my fans who cheered me on during handshake events etc, kept me back. There were times my heart trembled and wavered too, but consulting with my family and thinking a lot, I decided to graduate NMB48.
Taking over the responsibility of being captain was the condition at the time of my comeback, incomprehensibly for me at that time, I became the Team M and 2nd Generation captain. I kept running against walls so much that there was not a day as captain I did not worry, but with the strong wish "I want to make Team M a good team" I came to where I am now as well as I could.
With this tour, I could once again confirm that this team is a really great one.
I really was not the captain-type, but everyone followed me, and I am really grateful that I could make it this far. I am grateful that Akimoto-sensei layed the responsibility of being captain on me at the time of my comeback.
To tell the truth, I wanted us to grow even further through this tour. There was the shuffle, but this Team M overcame so many walls and it only consists of really great members. No matter where they are going, I think they will be able to continue to shine.
I am sad that I won't be able to meet all the fans who supported me until now at handshake events or theater shows anymore. But I haven't given up my dream and there are also a lot of things I want to do from now on, so I would be happy if you continued to watch over me.
Thank you so much for everything until now.

AKB48 35th Single [Mae Shika Mukanee] First Day Sales

AKB48 released their 35th single [Mae Shika Mukanee] on February 26th. The single which is the last one with Oshima Yuko sold 970, 413 copies on its first day and clearly took the number 1 spot in the Oricon Daily Charts.

Sales went up from the Janken single [Suzukake Nanchara] which sold 916,912 copies on its first day, but they are lower than those of the three singles before that: [Sayonara Crawl], [Koisuru Fortune Cookie] and [Heart Ereki] all passed the one-million-mark on day one.

[Mae Shika Mukanee] marks the start of an AKB48 Group release rush: HKT48 will release their 3rd single two weeks later on March 12th, SKE48 follows on March 19th and NMB48 on March 26th.

NMB48 Team M Tour Setlist

On February 25th, NMB48's Team M started their first solo tour with a concert in Kishiwada. A total of 7 concerts all over Osaka Prefecture are scheduled with a two day final in Osaka City on March 19th and 20th.

This is the first time Team M performs concerts alone without the other NMB48 teams. Because of the big group shuffle that took place on February 24th, those concerts will probably also be the last ones Team M performs with their current line-up.

AKB48 Group Dai Sokaku Matsuri Setlist + All Group Shuffle

On 24th February 2014, AKB48 held their all group shuffle [AKB48 Group Dai Sokaku Matsuri ~Jidai wa Kawaru. Dakedo, Bokuraha Mae Shika Mukanee!~]. All the teams from AKB48, SKE48, NMB48, and HKT48 got shuffled. None were left untouched, and even Nogizaka46 and JKT48 were affected. There were transfers between groups, plenty of concurrent members and promotions from kenkyuusei and the draft members.

The event started with each of the 12 current Japanese 48-group teams performing a song, before the shuffle took place. For shuffle results, see after the setlist below. Note all the members have until 26th February 2014 to appeal against their changes.

First the staff were shuffled, with perhaps the biggest change being Togasaki Tomonobu being demoted to customer service manager from AKB48 Group Manager. He has not appeared much during the last few months after his scandal where he was caught smoking synthetic cannabis. Replacing him is Shinobu Kayano who currently designs all the 48 group costumes. She will also continue in that role.

In AKB48, the only captain to remain from the current teams was Minegishi Minami of Team 4. Most members were moved about and all the current kenkyuusei were promoted. They stick to a 4 team system. Perhaps the biggest surprises in AKB48 were Kizaki Yuria transferring across from SKE48 to become Team 4 vice-captain, NMB48 Captain Yamamoto Sayaka becoming a concurrent member, and Ikoma Rina becoming the first Nogizaka46/AKB48 concurrent member. She was informed of this over the phone by Watanabe Mayu.

SKE48 had quite a lot of members transferred across from other groups, mainly AKB48. A biggest surprise was the first - Miyazawa Sae was made Team S Leader. Since her transfer to SNH48, she had previously rejected becoming concurrent with an AKB48 team again, so it will be interesting to see whether she takes up this role, particularly as she will remain concurrent with SNH48 in China. She was informed of her position over the telephone. The other big surprise was Matsui Rena being made a concurrent member with Nogizaka46. This was the second and last Nogizaka46 concurrency announced at this event.

In NMB48, as well as Team N captain Yamamoto Sayaka becoming a concurrent AKB48 member, Team M captain Yamada Nana will hold a concurrency with SKE48. Ex-Team B captain Umeda Ayaka transfers across to become Team BII Vice-Captain. There were a few more transfers, and the high profile concurrency of Kashiwagi Yuki in Team N.

HKT48 had only just got shuffled during their Kyushu 7 Prefectures Tour, however, they still got re-shuffled. A few kenkyuusei got promoted, more members got made concurrent, but the only sister group member they gained was Kimoto Kanon concurrent with SKE48.

JKT48 lost their concurrent members Takajo Aki and Nozawa Rena but gained a full transfer of Chikano Rina from AKB48.

Overall, there were far more changes than those mentioned above, so please check out the full team list below after the setlist:

SKE48 Matsumoto Rina Announces Graduation

On February 21st, Team KII member Matsumoto Rina annouced her graduation from SKE48. She will leave in April to concentrate on her studies. An exact graduation date has yet to be announced but it was already confirmed that she will participate in the AKB48 Group spring concerts in Saitama Super Arena (April 4~6).

Matsurina joined SKE48 in 2009 as part of the 2nd Generation and became an original Team KII member the same year. She was a senbatsu member twice: for [Kataomoi Finally] and [Aishiteraburu] and ranked 41st in last year's election.

HKT48 3rd Single [Sakura, Minna de Tabeta] Tracklist and Covers

The single will be released in four types: A, B, C and the Theatre Version. The tracklist shows a first for HKT48: instead of the usual Amakuchi-hime and Umakuchi-hime, the single features team songs for Team H, Team KIV and the Kenkyuusei.

Oshima Team K [Saishuu Bell ga Naru] Shonichi

On February 20, Oshima Team K performed a new waiting stage, a revival of Team K's 4th stage [Saishuu Bell ga Naru]. This stage was originally performed by old Team K from May 2008 until April 2009.

Changing their stage show was a surprising move by Team K given that in a few days, on the 24th, the AKB48 Group Dai Sokaku Matsuri, a shuffle event, will be held.

The setlist was basically the same as the original one but [Ookami to Pride] performed by Team K's draft members Gotou Moe and Shimoguchi Hinana was added. You can find the setlist for the shonichi performance below.

Watarirouka Hashiritai Final Concert Setlist

Watarirouka Hashiritai held their final concert together on the 9th February 2014 at Zepp Diver City, Tokyo. This followed up their final best-of album [Watarirouka wo Yuukuri Arukitai], released on 25th December 2013. The group went through a total of 8 members over the course of it's lifespan, from an initial start with 4. It started off as an AKB48 sub-unit, but by the end, only three members remained in AKB48, and two of those were also solo artists. Three members had graduated the group (with one retiring from showbusiness altogether), and the other two had transferred to HKT48 and JKT48 respectively. Even for the handshake and autograph events surrounding their final album, they were unable to get seven members of the group together at the same time.

Thus, the group came to and end, and this concert was the final celebration. One of the members mentioned in the final MC that the concert would be made available on DVD. There will also be a "create-your-own" photobook available to purchase from 7net, for Japanese residents only.

SKE48 Team S 5th Stage Delayed Again

SKE48 Team S' 5th stage which was supposed to start on February 27 has been delayed. As a reason for this delay, the recently announced AKB48 Group Dai Sokaku Matsuri was mentioned. This event will be held on February 24 and it is believed to be a new member shuffle for the 48groups.

This is the second thime this stage gets postponed. It was originally set for November 30 2013.

If they really plan on shuffling the 48 group members then Team S won't be the same it is now, so it makes sense to delay the stage. But I personally would prefer to have the new stage instead of a new Team S....

NMB48's Umehara Mako Announces Graduation

On January 31st, Team BII member Umehara Mako has announced that she will graduate from NMB48 because she wants to pursue a different dream and  focus on her studies. A date for her graduation show is yet to be decided.

Umehara Mako joined NMB48 in early 2012 as a 3rd Generation member. She was selected as a member of Team BII in October of the same year and is now the first member of this team who graduates.

Umehara Mako's graduation announcement
Original Message
I, Umehara Mako, will graduate from NMB48.
While experiencing different activities in NMB48, my feelings toward another dream I have had for a long time now have become stronger.
I often thought that I somehow might be able to pursue this other dream even if I continued my activities in NMB48 the way I did until now. But, judging from my character, it would be difficult to balance it with my activities in NMB48 and I think I might end up doing both things half-heartedly.
As a result of worrying and thinking a lot, I made the decision to graduate NMB48 and to move towards my other dream.
Starting this spring, I will be a high school student. Facing towards my dream, I will also do my best at studying from now on.
To all those who supported and encouraged me all this time even though I have never been selected for senbatsu: thank you so much. The fact that I have been part of NMB48 and all the people who supported me until now are a big fortune for me.
There will be only little time for me left in NMB48 but please support me.
