In an unprecedented move, an AKB48 subunit will get their own television variety show. The lucky subunit to receive this honour? It's Not yet.
The new regular variety show will be called Yonpara, which probably means Yon-nin Paradaisu (4-member Paradise) or something similar. With a name like that, it's impossible to deduce what the girls will be doing on the show, so we'll just have to wait for more details.
Previously, we've only seen high-ranking senbatsu members get their own shows, such as Sashihara Rino, who, incidentally, is also a member of Not yet. Her show, Sashiko no Kuse ni, is also aired on the same channel Yonpara will be broadcasted on. Yonpara, however, gets a slightly better timeslot, being on Sunday late nights.
The show will start on 16 October 2011, and will air every Sunday for 30 mins from 24:50PM ~ 25:20PM on TBS.
Yonpara (ヨンパラ)
Hosts: Not yet
Channel: TBS
Schedule: Weekly every Sunday
Timing: 24:50PM ~ 25:20PM (Mon 12:50AM ~ 01:20AM)
It will be interesting to see what the girls are going to do. Yuko, Sasshii and Rie probably won't have any problems as they've been on countless TV programs and are definitely entertaining. I wonder if Yui can match up. I like Yui but I haven't really seen her been entertaining before. But I have confidence that they'll work together fine to pull it off.
Well, congratulations to Not yet!
