Kasai Tomomi diagnosed with Pelvic peritonitis

Breaking news. Earlier this evening, Kasai Tomomi made a shocking announcement on her blog. Turns out that she has been diagnosed with pelvic peritonitis for some time already. A translation of her blog post is at the bottom of the post.

According to emedicinehealth, "Pelvic peritonitis is inflammation and infection of the peritoneum, the membrane lining the abdomen in the pelvic area. Pelvic peritonitis occurs most often as a complication of an infection of the fallopian tubes".

Without treatment, pelvic peritonitis can rapidly worsen and even become life-threatening. It's a good thing that Chiyuu went to the hospital for a proper checkup. Depending on the severity, she may need to have an operation.

Pelvic peritonitis can be caused by many different factors, but the most common cause is a gastrointestinal perforation. Or in simpler words, an opening in the wall of the stomach, small intestine or large intestine. Often which is caused by a fish bone.

Chiyuu is already receiving treatment for pelvic peritonitis. Regardless of the cause, let's hope she recovers soon and manages to go back on stage.

(please be forgiving if there are mistakes)
I am sorry that I wasn't able to update my blog and made everyone worry.

To be honest, when I went to the hospital,
Pelvic Peritonitis was diagnosed.

It was tough and I was anxious and scared.
But I was supported by everyone,
And I am getting a lot better with receiving treatment.
I want to recover completely while working little by little in a small range.

I was wavering thinking 'wouldn't telling everyone the name of the illness instead make them worry',
But I talked about it with the staff,
And I decided to tell it to everyone properly.
So I announced it just now on the blog.

I am very sorry that I really made you all worry.

But please be relieved because it is really getting better.

And I am sorry that this information comes so late even though I received a lot of worried comments.

All your comments are so warmhearted, I am happy

Thank you.
