The AKB48 Group teams will compete against each other in a new event, the AKB48 Group Pennant Race. Points will be awarded based on theater ticket applications, theater version handshake ticket sales and sousenkyo votes.
On July 6th Team E member Owaki Arisa has announced that she will graduate SKE48 because she wants to try other things in life. She will leave at the end of this month but a precise date has not been decided yet.
Owaki Arisa joined SKE48 as part of the 5th Generation in fall 2011. She was promoted to Team E during the Daisokaku Matsuri this year.
I have to tell you something.
At the end of this month I, Owaki Arisa, will graduate from SKE48. I was finally promoted to this Team E. It was a long-awaited promotion but I have found some things I want to try, things I'd like to do. I thought that from now on I want to do a variety of things and so I decided to graduate.
There is only a short time left but please, until the end of July, support me, Team E and SKE48.
Thank you very much for a fun time until now!
I will continue my activities until the end of July so please support me.
Thank you.
As the last of SKE48's new teams, Team E started its new stage [Te wo Tsunaginara] on May 2. This show is Team S' 2nd and first original stage and was also done by Team KII which means that now all SKE48 teams have done this stage. It was also redone by HKT48's 1st Generation/Team H and Team 4.
New Team E has 20 girls so 4 did not perform the shonichi. Matsui Rena already did this stage as part of Team S, Saito Makiko and Yamada Reika as part of Team KII. Rena and Makiko got new units, Reika did not perform.

On March 16, another SKE48 member announced her graduation: Kito Momona, member of Team E, will leave the group in April. An exact date is yet to be decided.
Kito Momona is a 2nd Generation member. She joined SKE48 in 2009 and became a Team KII member the same year. At the end of 2010 she was demoted to Kenkyuusei alongside some other KII members. After more than one and a half year as Kenkyuusei she was promoted to Team S in August 2012 and then transferred to Team E during the SKE48 shuffle last year. As announced during the Dai Sokaku Matsuri, she was supposed to go back to Team S but Momona chose a different path in life and will now leave the group.
This is the fourth graduation announcement for SKE48 in a week. Two Kenkyuusei, Orito Aisa and Yamamoto Yuka, as well has Team S member Deguchi Aki had already declared their leave before today.
I have an announcement for you. I, Kito Momona, will graduate from SKE48 in April.
The reason is that, last year I turned 20 and I had several things to think about, like what do I want to do, and how do I want to go on from here, and this is the result of my consideration. Of course I loved working as an idol, and parting from you all and parting from the other members makes me feel lonely, but I made the decision to do what I want to do and decided to graduate.
So I don't think of this as a sad parting. Please continue to support SKE48 and to support me, Kito Momona.
I still have time until April, so it would be great if I am able to create a lot of memories.
Thank you.
On December 7th, SKE48 members Suga Nanako and Yano Azuki announced that they will leave the group this month. Team E member Suga Nanako will have her final graduation show on December 22nd and Kenkyuusei Yano Azuki a day later on December 23rd, but both will still participate in a few handshake events in early 2014. Both girls want to focus on their studies.
Suga Nanako is a 5th Generation member. She joined SKE48 in late 2011 and was promoted to Team S in August 2012 and then became a Team E member after the SKE48 shuffle this April. She made SKE48 senbatsu constantly since the 10th single [Kiss Datte Hidarikiki]. Yano Azuki is a 6th Generation member who joined SKE48 this year.
These graduation annoucements come only two weeks after two other SKE48 members, Niidoi Sayaka and Kitahara Yuna, announced their graduations.
You can read their messagesabout the graduations below.
I, Suga Nanako, will retire from my activities in SKE48 at the end of this month.
It is a very sudden announcement and I am sorry about that but since I will become a third year high school student from now on and want to study properly, I made this decision.
This is my third year since I joined SKE48. From the time I joined many people cheered for me, many members, the staff, my family supported me, and so I could continue my activites until now.
Thank you. I want to continue with all my power until the end, so please support me.
I am 6th Generation Kenkyuusei Yano Azuki. I will retire from my activities in SKE48 at the end of December. I made this decision because I want to focus on my studies.
While continuing my activities I bumped into many walls. Nevertheless, during these activities there were a lot of opportunities where I was able to come into contact with work I had always admired and my admiration for it became even stronger.
From now on, I want to make this kind of work my future dream, and will advance straight ahead on the way I believed in.
I am sorry that this is such a sudden announcement.
Thank you to all the fans who supported me and to all SKE48 fans.
I want to cherish the time I have left and want to work with even more effort than before.
Recently it was announced that Team S' 5th Stage scheduled for November 30th had to be delayed. The new shonichi date for this stage has now been revealed: it will be on February 27th, 2014.
But this is not the only news concerning new team stages. Team H's new stage, the first original one for HKT48, planned to start on December 22nd has been delayed too. A new date has not been mentioned.
Additionally, new stages for the other teams will have to undergo schedule changes as well.
I guess many people expected this to happen.I did, but it is still disappointing. Why did they even bother to announce exact dates for all new stages even though it was clear they could not keep them?
On November 10th, all 48 groups held the first AKB48 Group Draft Meeting. Team captains together with four other representatives of their team picked new team members from a pool of 29 candidates.
After the candidates performed [River] and [Aitakatta] in groups and were questioned by hosts and the team captains, the actual draft took place. 20 girls were drafted. The most were picked by Team KII which chose 5 girls while Team S, N, M and H decided to draft only one.
Two girls were picked by several teams: Sutou Ririka by Team KII, Team E and Team N and Kawamoto Saya
by Team B, S, KII, E and H. The decision which team gets them had to
be made by lottery which left Sutou with N and Kawamoto with B.
The drafted girls will now enter into negotiations with the respective teams and they still have the right to decline joining the team until December.
The girls who were not picked will be automatically in the final audition round if they decide to participate in the next AKB48 group auditions
The final results are:
Team A:
1st Round: Nishiyama Rena
2nd Round: Takita Kayoko
Team K:
1st Round: Gotou Moe
2nd Round: Shimoguchi Hinana
Team B:
1st Round: Yokoshima Aeri
2nd Round: Kawamoto Saya

SKE48 have also released Team E's 2nd Stage [Saka Agari] on DVD, available at their official shop. The ending Team S and Team KII stages have previously been released on DVD.
SKE48 have announced that the three New Teams, as shuffled at the Gaichi Hall concerts on 13th April 2013 will start performing new stages from July. Rather than being new original stages, these stages will be stages previously performed by AKB48.
The three new teams had performed together at the Nippon Budokan concert on the 25th April but the old teams have continued to perform their current stages in the theatre.
The captains of the new teams, Team S: Nakanishi Yuka, Team KII: Takayanagi Akane, and Team E:Matsui Rena, together with staff and management, came up with a shortlist of which previous AKB48 stage each team will perform. These are:

It's good that the New Teams will come into action, and not surprising that they don't get original stages, given the lack of them in all of the AKB48 groups. However, with the AKB48 and HKT48 Teams getting "waiting stages" comprising of new setlists containing old songs, SKE48 buck this trend by performing actual previous stages.
For the first time in SKE48 history, a full shuffle was announced at the end of the first day of Gaishi Hall Concert, titled "Kawaranai Koto. Zutto Nakama na Koto" ("Some things will never change. Friends always and forever").
The new manager Shiba came on at the end of the show on Saturday, April 13th and surprised everyone, members and audience alike, by announcing the shuffle.
Nakanishi Yuka is the new Team S leader, as well as Captain of SKE48. Takayanagi Akane remains leader of Team KII. Matsui Rena is the new Team E leader.
It was also announced that Matsumura Kaori had been given the title of "Lifetime Honorary Kenkyuusei", and she was not promoted to any of the 3 teams.
The new teams are as follows:

Nakanishi Yuka
Abiru Riho (KII)

In addition, Yagami Kumi, appeared on-stage to re-affirm her previous graduation announcement. No graduation dates have been set yet apart from a vague spring timeframe. Watch the graduation announcement below:
These nine members will appear together in a coupling song entitled [Sore wo Seishun to Yobu hi] on SKE48's upcoming 11th single [Choco no Dorei], released on the 30th January 2013. The title of the unit is Tabidachi Sotsugyou-gumi which translates to "alumni journey".
This announcement came as a big shock to me - just the sheer volume at once. However, there was a rumour at the end of last year that a mass graduation from SKE48 had been postponed due to all the NMB48 graduations. With the way the nine graduates are getting a unit song together on the next single, seems like this indeed had been planned for a while.
Today was SKE48 Team E's 2nd stage [Saka Agari]'s Shonichi. [Saka Agari] being originally Team K's 5th stage and performed for the first by another Team.
Sad part was that there was still no promotions, Kenkyuusei's were still filling in the spot for the 3 members that graduated (Nakamura Yuka, Yamada Erika and Mano Haruka). That is indeed very disappointing. Now that Team E's 2nd stage has begun, we will see promotions in the near future? Hopefully.

Team E's first performance of their second stage will come in less than 3 weeks on the 14th of May. E2 will be a revival of original-Team K's 5th stage, which was performed more than 2 years ago from February 2009 to February 2010. Team E just wrapped up its first stage [Pajama Drive] at the end of March, and the girls are quickly preparing for their comeback.
With the graduation of 3 members from Team E, I wonder whether management will rotate research students in and out of performances, or just directly promote them to the team.
I'm especially interested in who the unit members will be, especially for the solo song, Mushi no Ballad. Since Team E has a cute image, I wonder how they will pull off cool songs like Dakishimeraretara and End Roll.
Today at Team E's stage performance, they announced the Senshuuraku (closing of the stage) of their 1st stage [Pajama Drive] to be on March 28th.
[Pajama Drive], originally performed by AKB48's Team B, was performed by Team E for their 1st Stage since January of last year. The title of the new stage, as well as the Shonichi (opening of the stage) will be revealed later.
March 28th will also be the last stage performance for Mano Haruka and Yamada Erika, who announced their graduation for the end of March. They will still perform at the SKE48 concert on April 14~15 at the Nippon Gaishi Hall.
Including Nakamura Yuka who graduated last year, there will be 3 vacant spots in Team E, which could mean that for the new stage, there will be promotion for some Kenkyuuseis. The probability of Team E doing a previous stage again for their 2nd stage is highly likely and I hope the Shonichi date will be announced soon, otherwise the Team E members will be without a stage for quite a while. I hope it won't be a repeat of KII 2nd stage revival.
More SKE48 members have announced their graduation, this time it is Team E's Mano Haruka (left) and Yamada Erika (right). The two of them will graduate together with Team S's Ono Haruka at the end of March.
Just what is happening in SKE48? After a long time of stability with barely any graduations, now we have 3 graduations in just a week? And we're still in Week 1 of March. All these graduations and no promotions smells like an SKE team shuffle will come soon.
There goes another Haruka in SKE48. Now the only Haruka left is Kenkyuusei Futamura Haruka. Once Harurun and Erika graduate, there will be 3 empty spots in Team E, and a total of 5 in SKE48.
Here is a translation of the announcement after their performance today:
We have something to report to all of you.
I, Mana Haruka, and Yamada Erika, will both graduate at the end of March, after having gained a lot of experience in SKE48.
I have performed with the group for 3 years, but recently I find myself wanting to focus on my studies more, so I came to this conclusion.
I have received a lot of support from all the fans, and I am very very thankful.
There is still some time until the end of March, even though it's only a short time, please keep cheering for me.
As for me [Yamada Erica], I injured myself on January 16th, 2011. The diagnosis is an herniated disc.
I have been getting treatment and it is getting better, but it may also come back in the future if I do not take good care of it.
So I have decided to graduate and focus on treatment.
Please keep supporting me until the end of March, which is just a short time from now. Please also keep cheering for Team E.
Thank you for coming to the Team E performance. To show our gratitude, we will high-five with all of the audience on your way out.
Announced at Team E performance today, SKE48's Team E'sNakamura Yuka will be graduating by the end of 2011. The reason for her graduation is to focus on her studies as she will be taking high school entrance exam in 2012.
Here's what she said when she announced her own graduation:
I, Nakamura Yuka, has something I would like to tell everyone. I will be a middle school year 3 next year.I am thinking of placing priority in studying for my high school entrance exam.
I am sorry for not voicing this out earlier. I am sorry graduating just as my schedule is becoming packed this year.
I am truly sorry for being the first to graduate from Team E, but I hope you will continue to support Team E and SKE48. Even though I am graduating, I still love SKE48. I aim to be Team E's greatest fan. I will work hard to become Team E's greatest fan so everyone please work hard as well.
Nakamura Yuka is the first and only member of Team E to graduate. She joined SKE48 in 2010 during the 4th Audition on September, and was promoted to Team E on December. Her unit song in Team E 1st Stage [Shonichi] is Temodemo no Namida, taking on Saeki Mika's lines in the song. Coincidentally, Saeki Mika has also graduated.
Hey, sada here! Here's my first review to kick off my time with MELOS no Michi, since there's nothing happening with SKE for the next month. A little late but I think it's fine. SKE48's Team E 1st Stage [Pajama Drive]. I was really excited when I heard this would be their first stage. It's hard to see the girls in the current Live On Demands (LODs) SKE48 is putting out but hopefully better quality videos will come out soon. Also my Team E oshi is Shibata Aya.
