Team YJ7 vs Team YM7

I'm sure many fans would remember that around the time of early last year, there was a unit battle between Team YJ (Weekly Young Jump magazine) and Team PB (Weekly Playboy magazine).

This event constituted many spreads in their respective magazines in order to push its own team, a song and PV given to each team which was included in the Sakura no Shiori single, and fans voting to determine the winner. Eventually Team PB came out tops and got on the cover of both Weekly Playboy and Weekly Young Jump. This year, a similar event is being held.

This time, the opposing magazines no longer include Weekly Playboy. The battle will be between Team YJ7 (Weekly Young Jump) and Team YM7 (Young Magazine).

Team YJ7:
Minegishi Minami, Kitahara Rie, Yokoyama Yui, Oota Aika, Sato Amina, Yamauchi Suzuran, Ichikawa Miori
Team YM7:
Sashihara Rino, Kasai Tomomi, Takajo Aki, Miyazaki Miho, Sato Sumire, Komori Mika, Takeuchi Miyu

The event has begun, with voting starting from today, 4 April. You can vote for your favourite girl here, once everyday.

I'm not terribly excited about this event despite my oshimen Rie being in it; mainly because there is an obvious difference in popularity of the members in each team.

YM7 has 2 media senbatsu, 1 lower senbatsu who has increased in popularity enough to be pushed to center of the unit, 3 Undergirls and 1 9th gen RS.

YJ7 has zero media senbatsu, 2 lower senbatsu, 2 Undergirls, 1 pushed girl that hasn't gone through elections, 1 9th gen RS and 1 10th gen RS. Okay, yes, there's Fresh Lemon (Miorin) whose Mixi popularity is higher than the 9th gen RS from both teams, but really, it doesn't help much because there's still a lot of fans don't bother about RS at all.

This is just going to be a repeat of last year where Team PB won because their popularity largely outweighed Team YJ's, isn't it?

I welcome being proven wrong.

I'm lost, my two oshimen, Amina and Sasshii are in different teams... :( But you're right that YM7 looks stronger, so I'm voting for Amina this time. :)

The gap is closing up, from a 6000+ difference to a 5000+ difference.

However, Team YJ7 is still tops. GO YJ7!!!

Final Results;
YJ7: 109,667
YM7: 120,071

Where did the 10000+ votes come from?

Well, there's the next round to win back the glory.

That was a surprise indeed! Where did all those extra votes come from?

The next battle is a karaoke competition! Good luck to all!

The karaoke face-off between the 2 teams has began.

The first round pits Ichikawa Miori (YJ7) against Takeuchi Miyu (YM7).

Who will you vote? Will it based on their singing? Or, will you just vote for you oshimen?

This round my vote goes to Takeuchi Miyu (YM7) for her singing and choice of song. Sorry, YJ7...
