Tsunku Invades Akihabara!

Music producer Tsunku, known for his work with rival idol collective Hello! Project, will be opening an idol training entertainment cafe to be called "AKIHABARA Backstage  Pass" (this guy sure loves his Unicode symbols).  This cafe is slated to open in late November 2011.

The waitstaff in this cafe will be composed of girls who dream of becoming idols and singers, and will play the role of girls who mature and reach their idol debut during their interaction with the customers.  The cafe is intended to go one step beyond idol training video games and provide a real-life simulation where the customers take on the role of music producers.  Additionally, the cafe will feature performances by already-debuted idols and singers.

The cafe will be located in the famed "AKIBA Culture ZONE," a mere 3-minute walk from the "AKB48 Theater."  It appears that with this bold step, Tsunku is seeking to invade the AKB48 stronghold!!  One can only wonder how this is going to turn out...
