Details on the AKB48 Group Pennant Race
The AKB48 Group teams will compete against each other in a new event, the AKB48 Group Pennant Race. Points will be awarded based on theater ticket applications, theater version handshake ticket sales and sousenkyo votes.

[Everyday, Kachusha] 1st week sales the best in history.

This week's ORICON weekly chart hasn't been updated yet but according to a news report by them over here:

And the 1st week sales for AKB48's 21st Single Everyday, Kachuusha is.......

1,333,969!

What you are looking at right now is THE BEST debut week sales for a single IN HISTORY! The previous record was held for an amazing 15 years by Mr.Children's [Namonaki Uta] with 1,208,000 copies sold.

This is also AKB48's 8th consecutive single that topped the ORICON weekly chart in it's debut week. That last female group that held that record was Pink Lady more than 32 years ago.

Congratulations AKB48, and especially Akimoto Yasushi.
