During the Team K's [RESET] stage performance in the AKB48 Theater on July 26th, Fujie Reina was injured in an accident when she hit her eye against fellow member Minegeshi Minami's microphone. She was taken off stage immediately and examined by a doctor.
The accident took place during the first song RESET, in which Reinyan was one of the three dancers starting the song. Due to a mix up in the dance movements, Miichan's mic slammed into Reinyan's eye. Reinyan went off stage and the rest of the show continued without her. AKB48's Official Blog was updated explaining the situation and apologizing for the inconvenience.
The injury is not that serious, it was only a small cut inside her eyelid and some minor swelling but no stitches would be needed. It was barely noticeable in the picture she uploaded to her blog (top left). However, the injury could take up to a month to heal.
No hard feelings between Reinyan and Miichan. Reinyan will be continuing her work as long as the doctor approves, but with an eyepatch on.
Now if only Reinyan had short blue hair along with that eyepatch.
