Details on the AKB48 Group Pennant Race
The AKB48 Group teams will compete against each other in a new event, the AKB48 Group Pennant Race. Points will be awarded based on theater ticket applications, theater version handshake ticket sales and sousenkyo votes.

AKB48 Kouhaku Taikou Uta Gassen


AKB48 has announced yesterday that they will hold their own Kouhaku concert on December 20th, called [AKB48 Kouhaku Taikou Uta Gassen].

It is unknown if the concert will have just AKB48, or will include the whole 48 umbrella. The official announcement just says "AKB48 and others". The event will be held at the Tokyo Dome City Hall.

Just like the original Kouhaku Uta Gassen, AKB48 will be split into Red Team and White Team, and the 2 teams will battle against each other.

UPDATE:
The AKB48 Kouhaku Taikou Uta Gassen will be live broadcasted to over 100 theaters nationwide, and also including Hong Kong, Taiwan and South Korea
